This had got to be the most exciting write for me, I love it when people from my township [Tsakane] do amazing things to change lives. As a philanthropist in the making myself. I look out for courses that I can get involved in, and if the course is in my township- you bet I will!
Dress an orphan this Christmas is an annual campaign that has been running for 3-years. The campaign is aimed at collecting 300 new outfits for orphans at orphanages for Christmas with a Christmas lunch in the Ekurhuleni area.
– 2016’s theme is GIVE A NEW EXPERIENCE- that NEW FEELING
The campaign was inspired by the culture of kids dressing up on Christmas Day, the founder of the project Sicelo Mbonani wonders how those without feel on such a day recalling that he too had the experience as a kid of not having new clothes on Christmas Day. As Sicelo says ” I felt like locking myself indoors” he then had this idea to dress orphans on Christmas Day with new clothes. Sicelo decided orphans will be best for this campaign after observing how much they need when you have no one but the caregivers love and care. The campaign aims to dress orphans in brand new clothes, some of them never had anything new in their names.the aim is to show love and care by showing the kids how it feels to have something and learning how to take care of it.No child deserves to feel like an orphan when we have people in our communities.
Became a donor by dressing a child this Christmas with new clothes.Sicelo and his team are working on collecting 300 items of clothes to a couple of orphanages in the Ekurhuleni aka the East rand. All donor are requested to drop off the clothes at Sicelo ‘s office by the 15th of December 2016 then he and the team will do deliveries to orphanages on the 23rd and 24 the of December 2016.And off course a lunch on Christmas Day with games and entertainment, all donors are invited to both events, it’s going to be epic.
