Fruit Lips jams are damn good

I kid you not. I have been dying to share this with you. Fruit Lips jam are levels to another level. A couple of months ago I wrote a post on 10- from the pantry to the host- guest etiquette, to my surprise this article is my second most read article. This article was fun that some of you asked me to write articles based on kitchen activities more often, not hard at all since I enjoy my time in the kitchen.

So I thought sharing how much fun I had with Fruit Lips jams will be a great start.

I don’t know about you, but for me, fruits jam screams scones and cheese.
Nothing like a good jam to take your scones to the next level.

Yes, you guessed it, I made scones to go with the Strawberry and Rose jam. The funny thing is I spent the morning looking at scones recipes with ingredients that I already have at home, only to end calling my mom for recipes. She gave it to me off course. I have seen and helped my mom with this so many times. I remember there was a time when people will bring ingredients for her to bake for them (at no charge) that is my mom for you. Let’s just say I wouldn’t do that unless it’s for charity.

This recipe is easy, herewith if you would like to try it.

Ingredients;
Makes 8- scones

– 2 cups of cake flour
– 4 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 6 Tbsp butter, at room temperature
– 2/3 cup milk
– 1 large egg

Instructions
Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, with a wooden spoon then add butter. Mix it till it’s sandy looking.
Whisk together milk and the egg, save a small amount for the egg wash later, then add to the dry ingredients. Stir together with a wooden spoon till it’s all combined then can knead it till it’s smooth. Roll your dough but make sure it’s not thin, this helps to get nice and thick scones. Cut 8 circles then use the left over egg wash before baking. Bake for 12-15 min, until they risen twice in height and are golden brown.

I also made crostini entrees with grilled brie, crispy bacon, chili and Cape Black Fig jam.

I have found my new go-to entree when entertaining.

Have you tried Fruit Lips jams?
